Opportunities:

- Make it clear how team experiences and talents relate to the various needs of the startup.  Don't make investors interpret how a resume relates to the business.  

- Leverage advisor experiences as needed to supplement founder skills. 

- Acknowledge obvious team gaps.  Being upfront about weaknesses builds credibility and suggests to investors that founders have a plan.

Mistakes:

- Filing a page with the logos of large companies (without context) where team members had junior roles. 

- Including "fun facts" about founders, unless the anecdote supports the company narrative.

Opportunities:

- Relate revenue expectations to meaningful inputs, such as customers, deal size, transactions, etc.

Mistakes:

- Presenting numbers without context.  A graph showing $500m in revenue in year 5 is meaningless. 

- Not having a realistic view of the cash needs of the business.
